Aadhaar card is the most important document that everyone should have in the country. It indicates your identity as a citizen of the country. It is also required for many tasks that we perform on a daily basis. You will be allotted a 12 digit number in Aadhaar card. That number is your identity. Primarily Aadhaar card acts as proof of residence. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) issues Aadhaar card to all citizens of the country. In which your name, address, biometric and other details are recorded.

If you move to another area..

All the people of a country do not live permanently in one place. For education, job, business, etc., some people leave their hometown and go to another place to settle down. All of them must change the address in their Aadhaar card. Instead of domicile address they have to enter details of settled area. Then they will get government schemes following Aadhaar card.

How to change address

  • First  go to Aadhaar website .
  • Aadhaar number, registered mobile number should be entered. After that click on Send OTP option.
  • OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter it and login.
  • You will see a new page. Scroll through it and select the Aadhaar Update option.
  • Select Aadhaar Update Online.
  • The How It Works page appears. Go through all the steps shown there carefully and enter the details asked.
  • After that select the option Process to Aadhaar Update. If you want to change the address, click on the corresponding option.
  • Its current address will appear. Enter your new address in the details tubby updated section that appears under it.
  • Documents confirming change of address should be uploaded.
  • After completing all click on 'Next'. You will get a Service Request Number (SRN). It should be preserved for future use.
  • Finally you have to pay a charge of Rs.50 for your Aadhaar card address change.

Fraudsters use fake Aadhaar cards or stolen Aadhaar numbers to withdraw money from bank accounts through Aadhaar enabled payment system. In some cases they are even able to withdraw money without OTP authentication. But this fraud is done in various ways, including misappropriation of our fingerprints without our knowledge.

Biometric Locking/Unlocking is a feature that allows the Aadhaar holder to lock and temporarily unlock their biometrics.This facility is made available by UIDAI to strengthen the privacy of biometric data. Fingerprint, iris and face are locked in biometric lock system. After biometric locking Aadhaar authentication cannot be performed using biometric methods without Aadhaar holder's consent. But only Aadhaar number holders who have registered mobile numbers can lock their biometrics. After locking the biometrics a specific error code '330' will be displayed indicating that the biometrics are locked if the UID is used to execute any authentication services using the biometric method (Fingerprint/Iris/Face). 

How to Lock Aadhaar Biometrics?

You can use M Aadhaar app or UIDAI website to lock your Aadhaar biometrics. Once your biometrics are locked you cannot use them for Aadhaar authentication until you unlock them.

How to lock biometrics online

  • Visit the UIDAI website. 
  • Click on 'My Aadhaar' tab and under 'Aadhaar Services', click on 'Aadhaar Lock/Unlock'. 
  • Enter Aadhaar number or VID.
  • After that enter the captcha code and click on Send OTP. 
  • Then enter the OTP.
  • After entering the four-digit security code displayed on the screen, click the 'Enable' button.

This is how to lock through M Aadhaar app

  • Enter your Aadhaar number.
  • Enter the OTP. 
  • A 4 digit PIN should be set. 
  • Click on Lock Biometrics. A 4 digit PIN should be entered.

PAN (PAN) card is one of the important documents which are useful in many occasions in our daily life. It is essential mainly for financial transactions. A PAN card is required to purchase any property, to conduct transactions in banks exceeding Rs.50 thousand, or to open an account in a bank. PAN card is required for purchase and sale of vehicles, credit card, opening a demat account, buying or selling shares, filing IT returns.

  • First  go to the website . Select the application type and click on PAN card reprint option.
  • Enter your PAN number, Aadhaar, date of birth etc. on the page that opens there.
  • You will be asked to select OTP delivery option via Email, Mobile. After selecting your preferred option, an OTP will be sent to your email, mobile number associated with your original PAN card.
  • Enter the OTP on the page and click on the Send button.
  • Pay the required fee online and click on Print the PAN Card option.
  • A message will be sent to your mobile number. E-PAN can also be downloaded using the link provided therein.
  • The duplicate card should contain the same details as your original card. No new information and details will be updated. Duplicate PAN Card will reach your address within 15 to 20 days.

How to download online..

  • It takes about 15 to 20 days for the duplicate PAN card to reach our home. It can be downloaded online if necessary.
  • First  visit the website .
  • Your name, phone number, email etc. details should be entered in it.
  • Then submit the application form.
  • E-PAN will be sent in PDF format through email.
  • It can be easily downloaded from your email.

How to download on WhatsApp

  • To avail these services first you need to save “My Government” WhatsApp helpline number in your mobile. For that go to the phone dialer application and enter the number 9013151515 as “My Government” or “DigiLocker”. After that number will appear in your WhatsApp.
  • Type hi to the saved number and send it. You will get an automatic message saying Namaste. At the end of it two types of service names appear. They are Kovin Services and DigiLocker Services.
  • Digilocker services should be selected among them. After all, do you have a DigiLocker account? The question arises. If yes then select the option No.
  • OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. First enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number in it. You should follow these steps even if you have a DigiLocker account.
  • Enter the OTP received on your mobile number in it. After that documents saved in DigiLocker can be downloaded very easily.
  • All documents like Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Mark Sheet, License etc. can be downloaded. DigiLocker is the official government WhatsApp chat app. So there is no need to worry about its safety.
  • Digital India program provides such features to Indian citizens. So instead of going to download websites for PAN Card, Aadhaar Card and downloading it, you can easily download it in four to five clicks.

  • UIDAI వెబ్‌సైట్ నుండి ఆధార్ ఎన్‌రోల్‌మెంట్ ఫారమ్‌ను డౌన్‌లోడ్ చేయండి.
  • ఫారమ్‌ను పూరించండి. అవసరమైన పత్రాలతో పాటు సమీపంలోని ఆధార్ ఎన్‌రోల్‌మెంట్ సెంటర్‌లో సమర్పించండి.
  • మీ బయోమెట్రిక్ వివరాలు అక్కడ తీసుకుంటారు. అలాగే మీరు URN అందుకుంటారు.
