Using Email for login is more secure!

Username is less secure and being discontinued by many websites (there are still some old sites using username and they are less secure)

You probably set up the 2-Factor Authentication while signing up.

You can disable it in your Account Settings and use just email/password for login.

2FA is just an optional and additional layer for max security.

similar dbs never used email concept.. infact I never used valid emails also for creating accounts.. ee db kosam email account create sesukunna..

For guest users who are not logged in, cached content is rendered for optimal performance.

For logged-in users, you'll always see live data. This is mentioned on our Help page which has a lot of helpful info.

Those db's are using outdated software and technologies and hence less secure. Those outdated sites may be having just forums but also don't have many modern features like Live CHAT, Forums (with filters), Q&A Topics, Topic Rating, Topic Voting, Themes, Blogs, Articles, Reviews, Star Ratings, Events/Calendars, Page Auto-Refresh, real-time feedbacks like live Notifications, "Who else is there on this page?", "Who is typing?"... Every website needs a valid email by default for account confirmation while signing up. That is the only link between the user and the site. If s/he opted in for Newsletter or if the site needs to send emails for notifications or forgotten password, those emails will bounce as undelivered if the email address is not valid.

Caching for guest users is done only for a few minutes. It should not really matter because if guest A visits a cached page and refreshes it, the same cached page will be served to other guests instantly who visit the page before its cache expires (without having to rebuild the cached page). In other words, caching affects just one guest once in a while, while other guests won't face any delays.

Caching is done by all sites in some way based on their infra (we are on AWS).

Currently, guest users can overcome caching by signing into their account.
