Netflix is great but at times, they don't have the movies we like to watch. Even the movies that are listed on Netflix today may be gone soon due to their licensing agreements.
The purpose of these free alternatives is not to save money on subscription fees but to find movies that are not listed on Netflix. The best thing about these free alternatives is, they have a good collection and some movies not available on Netflix. Highly sustainable business models, will give Netflix a run for their money and eat their lunch. Completely legal, partnered with Xfinity, listed on Google movie searches alongside Netflix, Hulu, etc. on the sidebar. Great execution so far.
Ads? Even Netflix is playing ads these days. Just watch them on desktop Chrome with uBlock Origin or Adblock for Chrome extensions - all ads are suppressed! With iOS 15 and Safari extensions, it may be possible to suppress ads on mobile devices too.
Tubi TV
Tubi TV is ad-supported playing a total of about 2-3 minutes of ads in a 2-hour movie. You can find some movies that are not there on Netflix. A whole bunch of martial arts movies, too.

Peacock TV, by far, has some of the best collection in high quality next to Netflix!

For Xfinity, you can stream on their free Flex box, browser or the app. However, I found watching Peacock with uBlock Origin extension on Chrome desktop suppresses all ads and makes it ad-free! The browser version works only on the desktop/laptop but not on tablets/phones which means we need to use the PeacockTV app on mobile devices and it shows ads. Flex box prolly serves ads too.
