ARTICLE: How to use Meta AI image generator on WhatsApp to generate, edit and send images?

You can generate images using Meta AI in your WhatsApp chats. AI images are generated by artificial intelligence (AI), based on the prompt you type, using a service from Meta.

This feature is currently only available in limited countries and might not be available to you yet. 

At this time, only English is supported.

Android

Generate an AI image

In a chat with Meta AI

1. Open the chat with Meta AI.
2. Type imagine in the message field followed by your text prompt.
   As you type your prompt, you’ll see an image preview.
3. Choose an image, then tap Send 
4. The generated image will be displayed in the chat.
   You’ll also see an option to play a video of the images generated while you typed your prompt.

In an individual or group chat

1. Open the chat you’d like to generate an AI image in.
2. Type @ in the message field, then tap Meta AI.
3. Type imagine followed by your text prompt.
4. Tap Send 
5. The generated image will be displayed in the chat.

Update an AI image

You can update images you generated using Meta AI.

1. Open the chat with the AI image you generated.
2. Tap and hold the image.
3. Tap Reply.
4. Type your new text prompt in the message field.
5. Tap Send 
6. The updated generated image will be displayed in the chat.

 

iOS

1. Open the chat with Meta AI.

3. Enter your text prompt in the message field.
4. Click Send 
5. The generated image will be displayed in the chat.

Update an AI image

You can update images you generated using Meta AI.

1. Open the chat with the AI image you generated.
2. Click  next to the AI image.
3. Click Reply.
4. Enter your new text prompt in the message field.
5. Click Send 
6. The updated generated image will be displayed in the chat.

 

Mac

Generate an AI image

1. Open the chat you’d like to generate an AI image in.
2. Type @ in the message field, then click Meta AI.
3. Type /imagine in the message field followed by your text prompt.
4. Click Send.
5. The generated image will be displayed in the chat.
