Former Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Wednesday asserted that the TDP-BJP-Jana Sena Party (JSP) manifesto targeted a double-digit economic growth and the promises therein were realistic, unlike those made by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. 

Addressing media persons, Mr. Ramakrishnudu said though the manifesto was widely appreciated there were doubts whether the TDP-BJP-JSP Government would be able to implement it because of the huge debt of ₹14 lakh crore that piled up over the years. One way to generate adequate revenue was by harnessing the natural resources, especially mines, which were exploited to the hilt by private companies. 

Curbing the irregularities in liquor sales and curtailing wasteful expenditure would fetch sizeable revenue for the State exchequer. The battery of advisors appointed by the YSRCP would be done away with and own-tax revenue would be increased. 

Further, Mr. Ramakrishnudu said efforts would be made to have the 16th Finance Commission grant increased by 50% and that it was quite possible as BJP was a part of the alliance. The average capital expenditure in the last five years was below ₹12,000 crore, which stifled growth and the situation was so pathetic that the YSRCP Government struggled to pay salaries to the employees on time. The manifesto contained a roadmap for strengthening the rural economy and attracting investments, he said. 

The TDP-BJP-JSP government would give due priority to welfare schemes, Mr. Ramakrishnudu added, while alleging that Mr. Jagan was deliberately campaigning that the schemes would be done away with if the NDA alliance replaced the YSRCP.

KCR Barred From Campaigning For "Derogatory" Remarks Against Congress

Former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, popularly known as KCR, has been was banned by the Election Commission today from campaigning for 48 hours for his "derogatory" statements against the Congress. The 48-hour ban comes into force at 8 pm this evening.

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president has been barred from holding any public meetings, public processions, public rallies, shows and interviews, and public utterances in media in connection with the ongoing election for two days, said the Election Commission, "strongly condemning his impugned statements".

The Congress had complained to the election panel on April 6 about certain "objectionable" remarks issued by KCR at a press meet in Telangana's Sircilla town a day earlier.

The commission had earlier issued a show-cause notice to KCR over the alleged remarks. Responding to the notice on April 23, the former Chief Minister, however, denied the charge. He pointed out that the meaning of his original statement has been lost in translation: "The officers in charge of election in Telangana and Sircilla are not Telugu people and they hardly understand the local dialect of Telugu."

He also accused the Congress of picking some sentences from his press conference out of context. "The English translation of the sentences is not correct and twisted," he said.

KCR insisted that he had confined his criticism to the policies and programmes of the Congress and that he had not gone into personal aspects of any Congress leader as the Election Commission said.

After going through the content of the Congress complaint and KCR's reply, the commission found that the BRS chief "has violated the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct".

Post a commentK Chandrashekar Rao is the second politician to be banned from campaigning for 48 hours after Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

తెలంగాణ అభివృద్ధికి బీజేపీనే అడ్డు.. అంటూ ట్వీట్

పదేళ్ల మోదీ పాలనలో తెలంగాణకు కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం ఇచ్చింది ఏమీ లేదని ముఖ్యమంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి విమర్శించారు. ఎన్నో అడిగితే మోదీ ప్రభుత్వం ఇచ్చింది మాత్రం గాడిద గుడ్డు అంటూ ఎక్స్ వేదికగా ట్వీట్ చేశారు. నిన్న గాడిద గుడ్డు బొమ్మను నెత్తిపై పెట్టుకున్న ఫొటోను అటాచ్ చేశారు.

నిన్న చంద్రబాబు, పవన్ కల్యాణ్ మేనిఫెస్టో విడుదల చేయడంపై మంత్రి రోజా సోషల్ మీడియాలో స్పందించారు. ఆ మేనిఫెస్టోలో విద్యారంగం కోసం పేర్కొన్న అంశాలను రోజా ప్రస్తావించారు. చంద్రబాబు మాయమాటలు నమ్మి టీడీపీకి ఓటేస్తే జరిగేది ఇదే అంటూ వివరించారు. 

ఇంగ్లీష్ మీడియం విద్య ఉండదు, నాడు-నేడు ద్వారా పాఠశాలల అభివృద్ధి జరగదు, ఐబీ సిలబస్ ఉండదు, పౌష్టికాహారం పెట్టే గోరుముద్ద ఉండదు, కార్పొరేట్ స్కూల్ పిల్లల మాదిరి ఇచ్చే విద్యా కానుక ఉండదు, 8వ తరగతి పిల్లలకు ట్యాబ్ ఇవ్వరు, ఇంగ్లీషులో బాగా రాణించేందుకు బైలింగ్యువల్ బుక్స్ ఉండవు... అంటూ రోజా ఏకరవు పెట్టారు. 

అయితే ఇవన్నీ తాను చెప్పడంలేదని, టీడీపీ మేనిఫెస్టోనే చెబుతోందని పేర్కొన్నారు. అంటే, మన బీసీ, ఎస్సీ, ఎస్టీ, మైనారిటీ, అగ్రవర్ణ పేద పిల్లల భవిష్యత్, వారి మంచి చదువులు... ప్రశ్నార్థకమే కదా... ఆలోచించండి అంటూ రోజా ట్వీట్ చేశారు.

మే 7న మూడో దశ పోలింగ్ సందర్భంగా ప్రతి పోలింగ్ బూత్‌లో మూడుసార్లు లక్కీ డ్రా

విజేతకు అక్కడే బహుమతి ప్రదానం

రెండుమూడ్రోజుల తర్వాత మెగా డ్రా

ప్రకటించిన ఎన్నికల అధికారి

దేశంలో విడతల వారీగా జరుగుతున్నసార్వత్రిక ఎన్నికలకు ఎండదెబ్బ బాగానే తగులుతోంది. నిప్పులు చెరుగుతున్న సూర్యుడి దెబ్బకు బయటకు రావాలంటేనే భయపడుతున్న ప్రజలు ఓటింగ్‌కు దూరంగానే ఉంటున్నారు. ఉదయం పది తర్వాతి నుంచి సాయంత్రం 5 వరకు పోలింగ్ బూత్‌లు బోసిపోతున్నాయి. దీంతో ఓటింగ్ శాతం దారుణంగా పడిపోతోంది. ఇప్పటి వరకు జరిగిన ఎన్నికల పోలింగ్ శాతమే ఈ విషయం చెబుతోంది.

ఈ నేపథ్యంలో పోలింగ్ శాతాన్ని పెంచేందుకు మధ్యప్రదేశ్‌లోని భోపాల్ అధికారులు వినూత్నంగా ఆలోచించారు. ఈ నెల 7న మూడో విడత ఎన్నికలు జరగనున్న నేపథ్యంలో ఓటర్లను ఆకర్షించేందుకు లక్కీ డ్రాను ప్రవేశపెట్టారు. ఇందులో భాగంగా ఓటింగ్‌లో పాల్గొన్న వారికి కూపన్ ఇస్తారు. ఆ తర్వాత లక్కీ డ్రా నిర్వహిస్తారు.

అందులో గెలుపొందిన వారికి డైమండ్ ఉంగరాలు, టీవీలు, ఫ్రిడ్జ్‌లు, ఇతరవస్తువులు అందిస్తామని అధికారులు ప్రకటించారు. పోలింగ్ రోజు ఉదయం ప్రతి పోలింగ్ బూత్ వద్ద ఉదయం 10 గంటలు, మధ్యాహ్నం 3 గంటలు, సాయంత్రం 6 గంటలకు లక్కీ డ్రా నిర్వహిస్తారు. విజేతకు అక్కడే బహుమతిని అందిస్తారు. ఆ తర్వాత రెండుమూడు రోజులకు మెగా డ్రా నిర్వహించి విజేతలకు బహుమతులు ప్రదానం చేస్తామని జిల్లా ఎన్నికల అధికారి, కలెక్టర్ కౌశలేంద్ర విక్రమ్ సింగ్ తెలిపారు.
